Breaking News: Abrams in Striking Distance

BREAKING NEWS:
Tonight Stacey Abrams Debates Kemp in Georgia Governor Race
Tonight Stacey Abrams (D) will debate Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA). The women’s abortion issue has lost its momentum and dropped 34 points countrywide in just the past month. But perhaps women do not get that America could turn into another hijab-wearing Iran if the Republicans get their way. In an excruciatingly close race, the Democrat from Alabama needs every vote she can get. Abrams may have actually won the last election for governor, when then Secretary of State Kemp also controlled the election count.
This time around Abrams will focus on a woman’s right to choose in the debate. Her contender will probably dwell on the economy, as most Republicans have done right out of their playbook. Abrams told CNN:
‘It’s going to be front and center in the conversation.’
Abrams will go to Kemp’s ban on most abortions. His stance is abortion stops when “early cardiac activity is detected.” That would be as “early as six weeks.” Most women have no idea they are pregnant that early.
If Kemp wins the seat, he will side with the Supreme Court. Six conservative justices lied in their Senate confirmation hearings when they said that they would honor stare decisis (settled law). Instead, they overturned the half-century law Roe v. Wade.
Should the Republicans take the Senate or the House or both, they have promised to also confiscate contraception, just as Justice Clarence wrote in his SCOTUS decision. That would mean the state controls women’s bodies.
Hershel Walker (R) flashed an honorary badge during his weekend debate with incumbent Reverend Senator Raphael Warnock (D-AL). The two could not be further apart, except when it comes to their race, which is another close swing state.
Taylor Greene is a ‘Victim of the January 6’ Insurrection
During her debate, Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) claimed that she was a “victim of the January 6 riot.” The conspiracy theorist even lent a soft shoulder to the insurrectionists who went to jail, calling them ‘political prisoners” living in the '“Patriots Wing” of the Washington D.C. jail. During her debate with Marcus Flowers (D), he claimed she was part of the attempted coup, according to Yahoo News.
She quickly went on the attack:
‘You cannot accuse me of insurrection. I was a victim of the Jan. 6 riot just as much as any other member of Congress. That was the third day I had on the job. I had nothing to do with what happened there that day, and I will not have you accuse me of that.’
Flowers did not give up on this train of thought. He asked the Q-Anon representative why she cared more “for those criminals in jail” than the people of Alabama:
‘You spent your time providing aid and comfort to the Jan. 6 insurrectionists.’
That was when the representative who had all of her committees stripped from her for inappropriate and near-violent behavior went on a rant about Black Lives Matter and Antifa. She even called her opponent part of a “defund the police” party.
The Democrat hit her with the facts, saying:
‘Greene is selling Defund the FBI items on her website.’
Chuck Grassley in Freefall to 50-50 Senate Race
According to The Des Moines Register seven-term incumbant Iowa Republican U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley’s, 89, lead has fallen to within 3 percentage points of his retired Navy Admiral opponent Democrat Mike Franken, 64. When Donald Trump came to Iowa earlier this year, the octogenarian in jeans sucked up to him in a most embarrassing way.
The latest Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll has Grassley ahead with 46 percent of the likely voters compared to Franken’s 43 percent. The remainder looks like “4% would vote for someone else, 4% would not vote, and 3% are not sure.” If Grassley won, he would be 95 when his term ended.
China Threatens Taiwan
China is threatening Taiwan with invasion. The markedly larger Chinese government has a Navy even larger than the U.S. But America stands firm. Because if China invades Taiwan, it will control the shipping lanes all across the Pacific’s west shores. The smaller government still makes most of our microchips, and we gave Taiwan our word.
The U.S. has traditionally called upon deterrence too late, but that is changing under President Joe Biden. Now China will assess the U.S. military force, the relationships with our allies, and U.S.’s stance in supporting Taiwan. Most likely, the Chinese will retreat rather than advance, according to MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
