And now for something different. Believe it or not, there is actually a number of other stories out there beyond the Russian invasion of Ukraine (below). And the good news closer to home is that the second-degree burn I have is almost well! And it appears there will not be a scar. Not bad for a 10” x 5” burn. I am very fortunate.
I had a hard time deciding which of my articles I like more. Clearly, I am a nerd. Give me ethics and international law, and I’m in Heaven and asking “where’s my hi-tech info?” But if you need a break from the war, this is the right place for you today!
These are the ones for today:
Trump’s Friends Into Secure Voting Systems
Roger Stone still banned from Twitter
House takes up SCOTUS (Supreme Court of The United States) ethics rules
Biden reverses dangerous Trump environmental protocols
Billionaire Elon Musk buys Twitter.
I hope you enjoy these, have a great weekend, and stay safe and well!
Okay, enough of that. Let’s read on!

Trump Allies Caught Illegally Accessing Secure Voting Systems
Donald Trump claims the 2020 election was stolen from him ad nauseam, and then his rock-solid supporters try to steal the election back and make him president again. In a Special Report, Reuters examines how events unfolded.
A year and a half after the ex-president lost his election, he had fully convinced the Trump acolytes that the ballot machines had been rigged against him.
Reuters discovered a new surveillance video. It showed that Colorado’s top election person in Elbert County Clerk, Dallas Schroeder, “copied computer drives containing sensitive voting information.”
Roger Stone Returns To Twitter For Six Hours Then Gets Permanent...
That most unusual Roger Stone must have been delighted that billionaire conservative Elon Musk bought Twitter. He immediately hopped onto the social media site with a boastful message claiming that he was in like Flynn again.
The self-described Dirty Trickster went onto Telegram in the wee hours of Thursday morning and wrote, according to The Daily Beast:
‘WELL BITCHES I’M BACK ON TWITTER. I’M ANXIOUS TO SEE HOW STRONG ELON MUSK’S COMMITMENT TO FREE SPEECH IS.’
Congress Takes Up Amendments To SCOTUS Ethics Rules
The House Judiciary Committee panel has decided to take up the matter of the Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) ethics Wednesday. It is within its power to make changes to the highest court’s standards and to consider the impeachment of a justice. At issue is whether Justice Thomas should recuse himself from cases related to the 2020 election and January 6.
The problem may have begun with Clarence and Virginia (Ginni) Thomas’ right-wing political activities, but it soon involved the Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) lack of an established strong protocol for ethical and nonethical behavior.
Clarence Thomas was the only justice to vote in Trump’s favor when the then-president was trying to keep communications related to the January 6 failed coup. And Justice Thomas has been frequently seen at his wife’s side at ultra-conservative events.
Biden Reverses Harmful Trump Environmental Policy, In Win For Dems
President Joe Biden bases his energy decisions on efficiency and sets 30-year goals. Right now, Americans still use incandescent “old-fashioned” lightbulbs for 30 percent of their lighting needs. His administration is in the process of implementing “a lighting revolution” by the end of the year.
The lightning lighting rollout will save Americans $3 billion every year. In addition, it will cut “carbon emissions by 222 metric tons over the next 30 years.” The Department of Energy will require incandescent bulbs manufacturers produce LED lightbulbs. And it will ban any of the inefficient incandescent and halogen lightbulbs The purpose is to reduce energy consumption and sever America’s attachment to the older bulbs. Doing so will dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Judge Rules Against Elon Musk In Securities Exchange Commission Case
The richest man in the world discovered that he cannot have everything he wants Wednesday when a federal judge denied his request to toss a 2018 Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) agreement. The SEC maintained that some of Musk’s tweets had to be “preapproved,” according to The Axios.
‘[T]HAT DOES NOT ESTABLISH A BASIS FOR HIM TO GET OUT OF THE JUDGMENT HE VOLUNTARILY SIGNED.’
Musk’s argument that the SEC was harassing him, did not hold water either. And the idea that the governmental agency would administer multiple investigations into his company, was rejected by the judge, too, as “meritless.”
