THE NEWSLETTER FOR INTELLIGENT WOMEN & MEN
Hi there! It is nice to be back and to see you again. I’ve discovered that pain is not conducive to writing. But it’s handled now. I attribute my cure to the vast quantities of gingerbread KitKats I consumed. And given that surgery is hardly ever any fun, I’m glad they let me avoid it, at least for a while. But more importantly, I wanted to tell you that I’m very sorry for being in my cave, where I go to lick my wounds and heal.
Enough of that, though! Onward to the news!
— We are calling Republican legislators members of the “MAGA Party” now. Good! Do you think calling them “Rabid MAGAs” is too much?
— Speaker-in-Name-Only McCarthy has pulled out his Revenge gun out and knocked three Democrats off of key committees in retribution for Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) taking Representative Marjory Taylor Greene off of hers.
ABC News reported:
‘Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, who has served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, as well as Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell, two California lawmakers who have served on the House Intelligence Committee.’
— Am I being paranoid for wondering whether a MAGA supporter broke into President Joe Biden‘s former think tank office and planted fewer than a dozen top-secret files? The president’s attorneys immediately notified the National Archives and returned the files. Much different response than Trump squirreling his top secret files outside of Mar-a-Lago.
Well, that should do it for now. Here are two new articles about the current issues (below). To read further, just click on the headline.
‘Baked Alaska’ Sentenced To Jail Over Jan 6 MAGA Attack
It is curious why the Judicial Branch of our government hands out feather-light sentences to those who were involved in the 2021 failed coup. A character nick-named Baked Alaska just received a two-month sentence for “trespassing” at our nation’s Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
Anthime “Baked Alaska” Gionet aka Tim Treadstone is an ultra-conservative media agitator. The internet personality videotaped a live feed of the insurrection. And attorneys for the Department of Justice showed the video during the sentencing hearing.
U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden presided over Baked Alaska’s case. And Department of Justice (DO) attorneys aired the video during the sentencing hearing as evidence of the media personality’s guilt…
Judge Rules Trump Must Release Documents In Mar-A-Lago Case
By Gloria Christie -
Donald Trump has fought to turn over the names of the individuals who conducted the search for his classified documents at Mar-a-Lago and elsewhere. The ex-president hired a company to do that search near the end of 2022, and indeed, its employees did find more of the illegally retained documents. But the situation changed after a chief US district court judge forced 45 to reveal them to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in a private hearing.
This move was instigated by the new Special Counsel Jack Smith, who was retained by the department to go after any illegal activities to undermine the 2020 presidential election, The Guardian reported. Trump’s attorneys claimed that the organization was experienced in such matters. The previous president could be charged with obstruction of justice for not releasing the company’s name and employees who were involved in the search. And delaying is a familiar tactic the last president has employed…
