Technology Is Driving Me Crazy
I hate the way cable changed its entire structure!! I still cannot find CBS. Too bad Stephen Colbert. I've spent over an entire year trying to make an insurance company go away. Thousands, okay hundreds, of hours after trying to return my never-used Spectrum phone the company forced me to pay for it. They said it was “damaged”. And apparently I have inadvertently spent hundreds of dollars trying to navigate the cable labyrinth. No kidding.
I spent my career taking cutting edge tech and explaining it to engineers, top executives and regular people. But these latest technological changes are designed to save the rich owners a few more pennies. It is disgraceful , because technology is WAY too complicated. Unnecessarily far more difficult.
Companies and government agencies figured out that they could replace live people with computerized robotic voices bereft of compassion, flexibility, and the knowledge we need.
Let's take what TV has done. Before this confusion revolution, I could easily find the shows I wanted. Now I have to know what company own a certain network, set up and remember a half dozen passwords. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc…
What Do You Think?
The answer is easy. Hire Americans and train them well. Give them a great work environment and benefits so they will stay and gain a rich bounty of indepth knowledge.
Oh it irritates me to no end when I have to readjust the TV volume every five minutes. Not to mention blasting my neighbors out of bed.
We must force all of the companies doing this to us to be consistent in how we access networks and shows. Purchase-only programs should be highlighted red. And bring back the show's schedule for ease of access.
Instead of corporations dumping all the work on us, hire an abundant local workforce to help us.
And limit all government red tape to a maximum of 2 pages. Please!
