Orange Is The New Orange: Stormy Daniels Testifies
HUSH MONEY TRIAL TESTIMONY OF STAR CHARACTER WITNESS
“You remind me of my daughter,” adult entertainment star Stormy Daniels said, speaking quickly about her first meeting with Donald Trump in 2007. They had met at a golf tournament. He had asked her to dinner. Daniels (Stephanie Clifford) turned down the initial invitation. But after her publicist suggested the actress go, Daniels accepted a second invitation. It was also delivered by Trump’s bodyguard. The prosecution asked the actress to provide details about her upbringing, her career, and the ex-president.
Trump was not in sight when she first arrived, but then he came out wearing silk pajamas. Daniels said she joked:
“Does Hugh Hefner (founder of Playboy magazine) know you are wearing his pajamas?”
Some of the jurors had difficulty keeping a straight face throughout her testimony. The entertainer politely asked the ex-president to change, and he did. Trump returned wearing a dress shirt. He had told her they would meet in the room and then go down to a very nice hotel restaurant. However after she arrived, he said that he wanted to talk. Daniels said it was small talk, getting to “know you” conversation.
The prosecution has charged the ex-president with falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments to Daniels immediately after the infamous Access Hollywood tape was released. The tape nearly derailed the campaign. Daniels’ story came to Trump’s attention the month before the 2016 presidential election.
Yesterday, members of the Trump Organization testified. They validated the prosecutor’s documents proving Michael Cohen (the previous president’s former attorney and self-described “fixer) paid the actress $130,000 to remain quiet.
The ex-president asked about her education, and she told him that she graduated in the top 10 percent of her high school class and took some college courses during high school. The woman left home at age 17, because her mother was “neglectful” disappearing for days at a time and began supporting herself. Daniels said her mother did not take drugs.
The actress said that she went into acting then writing and directing. Trump was curious about sexually transmitted diseases and how often porn actors were tested. She replied that she. had never tested positive. He asked about condoms, and she responded that all the actors in this company always wore condoms. They talked for about two hours only drinking water.
Daniels asked about Melania Trump, and he told her not to be concerned. They did not even sleep in the same bed. The actress went to the restroom and saw Old Spice on the counter. When she returned, the ex-president was sitting on the bed wearing only boxers and a tee shirt.
She was startled and realized she had put herself in the situation. After Trump and the actress had sex her hands were shaking so badly she could hardly put on her shoes. The judge interrupted and told the prosecution to move on at two points in the testimony.
Daniels wanted to retain the relationship in the hope she would put her on The Apprentice. Trump would call her one or two times a week.
Prior to the election, the actress’ publicist suggested Daniels offer to sell her story to The National Inquirer. The prosecutor asked why, and she replied she did not want the relationship to get out. Prior to the 2016 election, she changed her mind. Trump wanted to buy her silence, but delayed the $130,000 payment. The film star testified:
“The money didn’t matter to me.”
