Hi there. Nice to see you again. Have you ever had one of those days when you’re out, and someone asks how you are doing? And before your brain can stop you, you say:

‘I’m doing all the things I don’t want to do?’

Then the woman you don’t know at the other end of the phone line laughs and tells you:

‘I know what you mean. I have three kids. You know, I try to hide from my kids. So I sit in my bedroom. With the TV off and without the lights on. In the dark. Just for a few minutes alone. But they find me. They always find me.’

I suggest she go downtown. They would never find her there. And she laughs, responding:

‘Oh they would. They would. They always do. I hear them saying “Mom?” “Mom? Mom? Mom?”

I add, and that’s without the phone. We’re programmed to answer to that call of the wild childs. She laughs and says:

‘They always find me.’

After probably three minutes of such fun, I tell her I told my best friend I wanted to be a stand-up comedian just once. And my friend told me:

‘Oh no. You’d have to be a sit-down comedian!’

I miss my friend who currently lives in Heaven. I tell the woman I don’t know I write a blog. And I wished she lived closer. And she said:

‘I’ll find your blog. I’ll find you.’

Ah, it was good to laugh. On a day when I was doing all the things I didn’t want to do. Thank you woman I don’t know.

And for you, be safe, be well. They say COVID-19 version 367 will be pretty bad. But the booster shots are there for free. No kidding.
