Hi again! I’m so glad to see you! Well, there’s no putting it off. I’m pretty mad. Every time I get a million views of one of my articles or the memes I share, Facebook, goes:
‘Well, we can’t have that!”
I say:
‘Oh, sure you can. Come on. It’s just me your longtime customer.’
And I turn sideways to look invisible. But my sideways isn’t much different than my front ways. And don’t make me tell you what backways is like.
Then Facebook sticks his nose up in the air and says:
‘Look, if I cared for people, I wouldn’t be in this business.’
He reduces me to humilating begging:
‘Oh, please! I’m a good kid. I’m trying to do good things!’
Then Facebook looks down at me with disgust:
‘You just lost half of what I was going to give you. You can have 20,000 max.’
And I’m crushed. It happens every time. And it doesn’t help that I’m not the only one. I knew it was so, but I didn’t want to believe that my doorway into the internet, to people who wanted to read me belonged to just another billionaire trying to stomp out independent newsmakers, the creative, and even the Ukrainians.
But I have no choice. There is no other doorway. It’s just that it keeps getting smaller and smaller. Are we in Alice in Wonderland? What do you think? I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts.
Be well, my friends. The metro where I live on the Kansas side of the Missouri border only has 7 percent (not a typo) of the people getting the really good booster shot. And this COVID variant is supposed to be really bad. Be safe, too, okay?
