Sunday Laughs
THE NEWSLETTER FOR INTELLIGENT WOMEN & MEN
Hi there! Happy Sunday. Well, I’ve decided to make all of my Christmas presents. I have 14 days. So how many presents do you think I’ll get finished? Yeah, that’s what I thought, too. But I’m willing to give it a shot.
My Grandpa Christie died when I was five years old. I remember he had a candy drawer and never failed to show up with a little box of raisins in his pocket. And a few other memories. But not enough. So I recently asked my aunt what he was like. And she wrote back a beautiful letter.
I thought I’d share just a bit with you. It appears that Grandpa tried to stand on his head when he was in his 70s. On a kitchen chair. And he did it! And to think, I was trapped in a zero-gravity chair.
Then there was the time my Aunt Mary noticed Grandpa had unusually small feet. She compared his feet to a pair of her high heels. Then, Grandma called for her in the kitchen. Minutes later, in walked Grandpa in her high heels!
So it appears I came by my humor naturally. Christmas for me seems to be a time for remembering this year. My dear Aunt Mary gave me back a piece of my life that could have been gone forever. What a gift! I hope your memories before the big crush are as warm as mine are for me.
It looks as if we have a real trifecta of diseases this year. The good news is that there are shots against the flu and COVID. I hope everyone has theirs!
Be Safe. Be Well. You & Yours,
Gloria
