Welcome to the Day After Blues. The family is all gone. The table folded back up to normal size after bearing tons of bounty ranging from vegetables in aspic to Aunt Myrtle’s burned dinner rolls. From too-sweet yams with gooey marshmallows to the turkey’s carcass picked clean and gifted to the trash.

Those were the stories people took home with themselves, nuggets to be pulled out and suspended into today’s reality, just a brief laugh before being tucked back into a hidden corner of the brain.

And the people. The entire range of relatives you are still surprised that are related. A holiday built around the frame of six sisters, gradually falling to less with the death of each one or the indoctrination into Trump World. Until all collapses and new traditions are created from whole cloth.

Now that Thanksgiving is newly reinvented, what do you think of the change?
