Hi there! Nice to see you again. When President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama went to the White House for the formal unveiling of their portraits ceremony today, I was reminded of how comforting traditions are. In an ever-changing world, we need them more than ever. And today the Obamas spoke only about the people. Us. And each reminded us that hope is vital.
Sometimes people wonder what they can do to help, but the idea is just too huge to wrap our minds around. But I heard a little story today. This woman’s landlord asked her, “Are you having trouble paying the rent?” Embarrassed, she managed to nod yes. Then, he told her to skip that month’s rent.
Next, he asked her “Do you have any food?” She nodded and said that she had three packages of meat left. He nodded and left. Shortly thereafter, she got a text from him to open her front door. And there was sack after sack of groceries.
Freely given, the giver receives more than the recipient. I hope your week is filled with hope.
Stay safe! Stay well! You & yours!
