We Deal In Facts. They Are Crazy.
Column by Gloria Christie THE INTELLIGENT NEWSLETTER FOR INTELLIGENT WOMEN & MEN
Hi Friends!
Here’s the news. Just for you! And I just found out that the Supreme Court knew that if they threw the law on abortion and women’s healthcare back to the states, it should have failed. They know that the states are really not democratic any longer. Right-wing uber-conservatives have infiltrated state legislation in red states like a bad case of ants. The red states have cheated, tricked, and stolen elections from Democrats through gerrymandering and other ill-found ways.
Well, Baby, we’re back again! So watch out!

We Deal In Facts, They Are Crazy
Well, Senators Joe Manchin (-WY) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) finally got onboard for President Joe Biden’s signature legislation. Of course, it went through what seemed like a billion iterations and even changed its name. Still, the new and shinier Inflation Reduction Act does quite a bit to help out Democrats, especially with the Midterms approaching like a head-on collision. That is if the Dems can stay on target.
Kansas just voted down a Republican-created amendment to the state Constitution. But women (and men) had no intention of letting politicians control their gynecological health. I mean, after all, look at the mess the GOP had made of the Senate. We certainly do not want such ne’er-do-wells up in our business.
Neither does most of the country the Democratic politicians discovered. That circular firing squad has been for all sorts of pro-American issues, they just have not been able to get their message out. Until they stumbled onto this one.
Democrats can now say:
‘We’re saving women’s right to control their bodies. Republicans don’t know where women’s G-spots are located.’
‘We’re saving Earth. They throw snowballs on the Senate floor.’
‘We’re bringing manufacturing back to America. Republicans handed billionaires $2 trillion in tax reduction act.’
‘Payrolls went up half a million jobs in July. Trickle-down Economics really works!’
Wages up 5.2 percent this year. Trickle-down Economics definitely works!’
‘We deal in facts. They’re crazy.’
And so the House and Senate Democrats picked up their bullet points in the brand-new Inflation Reduction Act and went out into the world to sing its praises in almost perfect harmony. Almost, according to CNBC News and NBC News:
Medicare can finally negotiate for lower prescription prices, just as the VA does. This corrected the stupid part of the law that was written into the original. Republicans love their prescription donors.
Plus the Act includes largest climate investments in our country’s history
Reduces the nation’s deficit
Includes a 15 percent minimum tax on large companies
Adds a one percent tax on stock buybacks
Increases IRS’ collection resources
Adds other health changes such as a $2000 per year out-of-pocket drug cap.

I'm confused. Are you reiterating the tired Republican line, or do Democrats have proof that trickle-down works? Or is this tongue-in-cheek to enlighten the Republicans that Democrats' methods are better?
